Also, I don't really like Lisa Snowdon--so I am going to pretend that George never met her, because I don't want to write her into the story.

"Hello?" Julianna asks as she picks up the telephone in her house. She leans back on the couch.

"Hey Jules." She hears. Julianna's face lights up.

"Hi George." She replies, a warm smile on her face.

"How are you?" He asks.

"I'm fine. And you?" She asks.

"I'm good. I've got a question." George says.

"Shoot." Julianna say, nibbling on her bottom lip as she fiddles with the bottom of her t-shirt.

"Are you going to the Golden Globes?" George asks. She sighs.

"I wasn't planning on it. Ron has to film in New York that week and I don't really want to go alone." She says.

"Well..I was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.." He tries to continue but she interrupts him.

"Oh, George, that's great!" She says. He smiles.

"Yeah...and..I don't have a date either. Would you want to come with me? I don't want to go alone either and I need emotional support." He jokes. She grins.

"I highly doubt you need emotional support, George. And why are you asking me? Don't you have some young girl that would happily accompany you?" She teases. He sighs.

"So you don't want to go?" He asks. Her smile fades softly.

"George..I'll go. I was just kiddin'." She says. He nods.

"I know." He sighs deeply. "So you'll go?" He asks.

"Sure. Thanks for giving me enough time to pick out something to wear." She says, truthfully. He chuckles.

"Yeah...that really wasn't my intent. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't dateless." He says.

"Oh, now I feel special." She jokes. He chuckles some more.

"Sorry." He says. She smiles.

"No, it's fine. I'll find myself something to wear!" She says.

"Good, wouldn't want you to go dressed in rags." He teases.

"Hey Cinderella wore rags!" She argues playfully.

"Yes, but she also didn't go to the ball in rags. Technically, this is your ball, only there isn't a time limit." George says. Julianna laughs.

"Always finding a way to beat me down." She says.

"Of course." He says, smiling.

A month later, Julianna stepped out of the limo and looked at George. Pictures began flashing. She smiled and walked towards George.

"I always hate this part." She whispers through clenched teeth, her mouth stretched into a smile. He chuckles softly.

"Nothing like getting your picture taken when you really don't feel like smiling." He says through his own smile.

"Like now?" She asks. He chuckles as they begin to walk down the carpet.

Mary Hart from Entertainment Tonight stopped the two of them on their way down the red carpet.

"George..Julianna." She says. The two of them stop and smile brightly.

"Are you two dating?" She asks. George and Julianna laugh and raise their eyebrows.

"Uh, nope." George says, smiling.

"Ron is filming in New York and neither of us wanted to go alone," Julianna answers, motioning her hands between the two of them, "so we improvised." Mary nods her head.

"So, Julianna, who are you wearing?" Mary asks, looking at Julianna's black dress. Her dress had one big strap going over her right shoulder and across her back, leaving one shoulder and the rest of her back bare. Her hair is pulled up into complicated style.

"Oh, my dress is Oscar De La Renta." She answers. Mary nods, recognizing him.

"And your jewelry?" She asks.

"Oh..these are my own." Julianna says. Mary raises her eyebrows, impressed.

"Even the earrings?" She asks, looking at the large dangling diamonds.

"Even the earrings!" Julianna says, laughing softly. George smiles. Mary smiles and someone bumps into George's back and walks on.

"Excuse me." They murmur as they pass. He nods, turning back to the two women.

"I should let you two go. It's getting kind of crowded." Mary says. Julianna and George nod and they begin to walk away.

"I bet we'll be getting that question all night." George says.

"What question?" Julianna asks, looking at him.

"If we are dating." He says, chuckling slightly. She nods.

"Ah, yep. Most likely." She says and smiles widely. He shakes his head.

"I'm not going to win. Why am I here? I'm up against Mel Gibson, Jim Carrey, John Cusack, and Robert DeNiro!" George says to Julianna. She sighs and leans her chin on her hand.

"You've said that about 4 times now, George." Julianna says, slightly annoyed. He turns to her, smiling slightly.

"Getting tired of me, Jules?" He asks.

"Yes!" She says, raising her eyebrows but she can't help but smile. He chuckles and turns his head back towards the stage. "You'll win." She says quietly. He smiles but doesn't turn around to face her, although she knows he heard her.

"She's not giving anything away." George whispered to Julianna as Nicole Kidman stood in the front of the audience, announcing the nominees for George's category.

"She doesn't know who the winner is!" Julianna exclaims quietly, nudging George's back with her hand.

"She might." George whispers. Julianna shakes her head.

"And the winner is..." Nicole opens the envelope, "George Clooney!" She announces. George looks stunned before he stands. Julianna stands up beside him and she kisses his cheek quickly before he strolls to the stage and she takes her seat again. George took his award in hand and stepped up to the microphone.

"Well, thank you Hollywood Foreign Press. Ah, you know uh, I think when you list the names of the actors in the category I am in, you gotta figure I'm going to win this." George jokes. Julianna shakes her head as she chuckles under her breath, knowing exactly how he is. "Robert DeNiro, y'know, Cusack, Carrey, Mel Gibson, what've they done? Uh..this is because of the Coen Brothers, they're geniuses and I think every actor in this room would want to work with them..And it's because of that. My job was just to stay outta their way, basically, and not screw up. I got to work with a great cast and uh, a great crew. And I'm very proud to be, to be a part of any film they do, and I'll show up for anything. Although, they aren't really brothers. That's a lie..that's all a lie. And I..while we are confessing, I am actually the illegitimate love child of John Ashcroft, and I...I want that out there, I don't want that to effect any kind of voting that's coming up. But that's it." The audience laughs. "And, I'd like to thank Julianna Margulies for coming with me to this show." George says, smiling at her. She smiles back at him and he nods. "Listen, thank you very much, this is an honor, thank you." He says finally, exiting the stage, followed by Nicole Kidman as a reporter already stops him to talk.

George sits back down in his seat during a commercial, a few minutes after winning his award.

"You won!" Julianna exclaims.

"Suprisingly." George says, a chuckle rising from deep in his throat. She laughs and shakes her head.

"What did I tell you? I said you would win." She says.

"Yeah, only to make me shutup." George teases. She smiles.

"You know me well." She teases back but is interrupted as others start to congratulate George. She sits back in her sit, letting him having his moment.

Later, George was interviewed many times and each time he pulled Julianna along, not wanting her to be left alone. Julianna answered a few questions thrown her way, but mostly she let him have his time in the spotlight. She knew when she had won her Emmy and her SAG Award, she had wanted to have her time feeling important and she knew George's ego was fed by these reporters.

"So, what are your guy's plans for tonight?" One of the reporters asked Julianna and George.

"Oh, just going to this parties. Drinking..y'know, the usual." George says, smiling. Julianna smiles.

"You keep him in line, alright Julianna?" The reporter asks. She laughs.

"I'll try my best she says." Julianna replies. The reporter nods as she moves on to someone else. George chuckles.

"You'll be right in there with me!" George exclaims, grinning broadly.

"Yeah, but we can't ruin my lady-ish reputation with the country, now can we?" Julianna replies. He laughs as they walk into a party.

"Hit me again!" George announces, walking up to the bar, Julianna on his arm.

"George, you've had too much." She says. He grins at her. "Hit me again, too!" She exclaims and begins laughing. George chuckles as the bartender fills their drinks, raising his eyebrows at them.

"You're supposed to be keepin' me in line!" George says.

"I am!" She laughs and takes a swig of her drink. He grins at her and takes a swig of his own.

Later that night, Julianna and George's limo pulled up to Julianna's house. They stepped out of it, hanging onto each other in their drunken haze. They made their way into Julianna's house, loudly, laughing and flirting horribly as they fall onto the couch in the living room.

They stood after a few minutes.

"I should get home." He slurred. She shakes her head.

"You can't drive like this!" She says, smiling brightly. He chuckles.

"I don't have a car anyways!" He says.

"Oh..That's right! You don't!" She exclaims, giggling. "Wanna crash here?" She asks.

"Sure, why the hell not?" He asks, chuckling. She laughs as she tugs on his arm, pulling him down the hall way and to the stairs.

"Help me up, Romeo!" She says as they stumble up the stairs together. She drags him into her room and she twirls around unsteadily. "George, unclip me." She says. He reaches over, unclipping her dress slowly as he watches her milky back unfold under the black cloth. The alcohol in his system is making his sexual drive rise and he pulls her back towards him. She stumbles backwards slightly, her back coming to rest against his chest.

"Jules." He whispers hoarsely. She turns her neck, looking up at him, desire written across her face. He reaches his hands into the back of her dress, reaching his arms around to the front of her and rubbing his thumbs across her nipples slightly. She moans softly, pushing her pelvis back against his. He groans and pinches her nipples.

Julianna lay on her bed, sheets up over her chest as she watched as George pulled his clothes on.

"Shit, Jules. I'm..I'm sorry." George says, pulling his pants on and zipping them up. She didn't answer him as she stared into space, trying her hardest not to cry. She cannot believe that they just did that. After he had pulled his suit back on, somewhat, he turned to look at her. He nodded softly. "I'm sorry." He whispered quietly and exited the room, carrying the rest of his clothes with him. She waited until she heard the door of the house shut quietly before she burst into tears. She covered her eyes with her hands and sobbed.

Oh God. What would Ron think? Would she even tell him? No. No, it would be best if he never knew, she thought. It would be best if no one ever found out about this. No one.

~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~
The next day Ron came home. Julianna pretended like nothing had happened at all and she went on pretending it never happened, although it didn't last very long before she would remember George in her bed. George's lips and hands on her. The noises he made. The way he felt on top of her. But she would always try and push the thoughts away. When Ron tried to make love to her, she had to fight herself to not think of George, but in the end she couldn't help it, and she ended up just letting her mind wander as Ron made love to her. She knew from now on, her life would be crazy.
