Luka stood in the street, watching her drive away. He saw Alex slip back into the car with Sam as they drove out of sight. Luka’s head drooped heavily and he closed his eyes for a moment.
Women always left him. Carol, Abby, and now Sam. Except with Sam, she took more than just his pride. She took her son and his heart with her.
Luka looked up, looking into the empty space where Sam’s car had just been. He tucked his hands into his pockets and turned around, already going to work on mending his once more broken heart.
