July 9th
**********
"Should we tell her?" Julianna asked George. They were lying in bed early in the morning, cuddled in each other's arms. It was six months since that first date by the pool.
"I think she has the right to know." George said, running a hand through Julianna's thick curls. She sighed and gazed up at the ceiling.
"I know you're right. But...I don't want her to feel...put out." Julianna sighed and lifted a hand to George's. "I want her to understand."
"She just turned 17, Jules. I believe she's old enough and mature enough to understand." George said. Julianna nodded and looked up at him.
"I know you're right. We'll tell her this afternoon." Julianna said. He nodded and smiled.
"Alright." He said and pressed his lips to hers softly.

Madison came into the kitchen, carrying a stack of mail. George was sitting at the table, drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. Julianna was fixing herself some toast.
"Bill, junk, bill, credit card offer, bill, aha! My report card!" Madison tossed the rest of the mail on the table and ripped open the envelope from her school. Her eyes skimmed the report.
"Good, good, good, good, aw shit!" Madison mumbled. Julianna and George both cast amused glances her way.
"What?" Julianna asked. Madison looked up and her cheeks reddened a bit.
"Oh, I uh got an A- in Geography. I could have sworn I did better." George bit back a chuckle. She's just like her mother, he thought.
"Well, what else did you get?"
"All A's." Madison replied. Julianna nodded.
"Well, that's good, isn't it?" She asked. Madison shrugged.
"Yeah, but that minus brings me down." She said.
"What's your GPA?" Julianna asked.
"Still 4.0."
"Well, how did it bring you down?"
"I just wanted straight A's, is all." Madison said. Julianna nodded and took a bite of her toast.
"Well, that's still good. I think you deserve something." Julianna said. Madison looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
"Such as?"
"A shopping spree." Julianna suggested. Madison perked.
"You don't have to, it's just my report card."
"C'mon, let me spoil you some more. Besides, I've been meaning to do some shopping myself." Madison shrugged, trying to be nonchalant.
"Alright, if you want." Madison said. George chuckled and stood from his seat.
"You know you want to go." He said to Madison. The three of them laughed.
"Yeah, so?" Madison said. He chuckled again.
"Well, anyways, congratulations." He said and kissed her cheek and squeezed her shoulder, in a fatherly fashion. Madison pinked a bit.
"Thanks George."
"Welcome. Well, darling, I'm off to work." George kissed Julianna's cheek. Her eyes questioned him, reminded him.
"When will you be home?" She asked.
"Around 8, maybe 9. Not late. We'll talk then." He murmured in her ear and let his hand brush her stomach before he headed to the door.
"Bye George." Madison called after him.
"Later." George replied. Madison smiled at Julianna.
"So, when're we leaving?" She asked. Julianna laughed.
*****
George had an arm wrapped around Julianna's waist as they walked into the living room where Madison was sprawled out, watching the television.
"Maddie, we need to talk." Julianna said. Madison nodded and sat up on the chair.
"Alright." She flipped the TV off. Julianna and George sat across from her on the couch.
"This is pretty important." George said. Madison nodded.
"I'm listening." She said. Julianna bowed her head a bit and George squeezed her waist gently.
"I know that this doesn't happen to most teenagers your age, but most of their parents aren't as young as I." Madison's brows drew together in confusion.
"What?" Madison asked.
"Before I tell you, I just want to ask something of you. Please tell me your honest opinions about this." Julianna said. Madison nodded seriously, somewhat worried.
"Okay." She said cautiously.
"I'm pregnant." Julianna said. Madison simply stared for a few moments before her eyes brightened and her mouth dropped open.
"You're pregnant? You're going to have a baby? I'm going to be a sister?" Madison asked, the words spilling quickly from her mouth. Julianna nodded and swallowed nervously.
"That's the jist of it." She said. Madison jumped up.
"That's great! That's so great! Oh, wow! This is wonderful news! I've always wanted siblings. But then he died and Mom didn't think she could adopt as a single mother. Oh! I can't believe it!" Madison exclaimed. She dropped to her knees in front of George and Julianna, her hands on Julianna's knees. "It's great!"
"Really?" Julianna asked. Madison nodded excitedly.
"How far along are you?"
"Well, it's not exact, but a month or so." Julianna replied. Madison smiled largely.
"Wow! Eight more months. Ooh, I wonder if it'll be a girl or a boy." Madison said. Julianna laughed and took her daughter's face into her hands.
"Oh, you're absolutely wonderful, you know that?" Julianna asked. Madison's grin glowed and she hopped up, wrapping her arms around Julianna's neck.
"Oh, this is great." She sighed and smiled at George. "How do you feel, Daddy?" Madison asked with a sly smile as she pulled away from Julianna. He chuckled.
"I feel old." He said. Madison laughed and on impulse, threw her arms around George's neck.
"Thank you!" Madison exclaimed. George raised an eyebrow.
"For?"
"Getting her pregnant!" Madison exclaimed. George, Julianna and Madison all laughed.
"No problem. It was my pleasure." George joked. Julianna pinked slightly and hit him playfully. They all laughed again and sat together, happy.

Madison sat in the waiting room of the clinic. She bounced her legs slightly, impatient. She watched several pregnant women walking around. Some with a man by their side and others without.
"C'mon, c'mon. Hurry up." Madison mumbled to herself under her breath and willed the door to open. She sighed and looked down, studying her shoes. She heard the door open and her head shot up. She smiled widely when she saw Julianna walking through the door, George on her side. Madison jumped out of the chair and hurried to their side.
"So?" She asked. Julianna and George grinned.
"Wait until we get to the car." Julianna said.
"Ugh!" Madison whined, stomping her foot with impatience.
"Or you'll have a party here in the waiting room. You can wait." George chuckled and threw his other arm around Madison's shoulders. Madison craned her neck and looked at Jules.
"Pregnant women need exercise. Let's jog!" Madison said. Julianna lay a hand on her four month stomach.
"I don't think so!" She exclaimed and grinned. They began walking from the waiting room. When they reached the door, George held it open for both of them and smiled at a shocked woman who was walking through. Madison caught the look that the lady gave George and laughed. When he came outside she poked his ribs.
"You're just too sexy for your own good, George." Madison teased. He rolled his eyes.
"Tomorrow there'll be another rumor that I got you pregnant instead of your mom!" George exclaimed.
"George!" Julianna laughed. He chuckled.
"You know how it goes. I wouldn't put it past them." He said. Madison laughed.
"Thanks, George, but I'll pass. I can resist!" She said and wiggled her eyebrows. He grinned and pulled her hair.
"Ow!" She exclaimed, rubbing her head gently. She looked at them. "So, are you going to tell me?" Madison asked.
"In the car." George said.
"Jesus." Madison muttered and bounced impatiently beside the door of the jeep. When George unlocked it Madison scurried into the car.
"Now?" She asked. Julianna and George laughed as they slid into their own seats and closed the door. George looked at Julianna.
"Do you want to tell her or should I?"
"I don't know." Julianna said.
"Ugh! One of you just tell me!" Madison exclaimed. Julianna turned and smiled at her.
"It's a boy!" Julianna said. Madison whooped loudly.
"Yes! A boy! I knew it!" She exclaimed. George laughed.
"You did not."
"No, but I hoped. I wanted a brother."
"Why?" George asked.
"Because I wanted America to have another George Clooney to swoon over!" Madison teased. Julianna laughed and George made a face at Madison. She laughed too.
"Watch us have a girl." George joked and started the car. Julianna hooked her seatbelt and turned back to Madison.
"I suppose you have a name picked out." She said. Madison grinned widely.
"Nope, but I've got a list."
"Oh Jesus!" George exclaimed and they laughed again.
*****
"Well, Jules, I don't think we can fault her. She did a good job picking out names." George said to Julianna. Madison beamed as they read over her list.
"I circled and starred Andrew. Did you see?" Madison asked. George raised his brows and looked at her.
"Yes, I saw." He chuckled at her expression of hope.
"I love it." Julianna said, taking the paper from George.
"You do?" Madison asked. Julianna nodded and looked up at her.
"If you were a boy, I wanted to name you Andrew. But of course, I wasn't allowed to name you." Julianna murmured and swallowed.
"What were you going to call me since I was a girl?" Madison asked.
"Eve. That's why it's your middle name. Cathy and Robert let me do that much." Julianna said. Madison smiled slightly. George, sensing a bit of discomfort in the air, smiled.
"Two of a kind." He wrapped an arm around Julianna's neck and one around Madison's. They both looked up at him. "I think Andrew is a wonderful name."
"You do?" Madison and Julianna both said at once. He nodded and kissed each of their noses.
"Andrew it is." He said. Both of their eyes lit up.
"You're kidding?" Madison asked. He shook his head.
"Nope. But that means I get to pick out the middle name." He said. Julianna and Madison laughed.
"Alright then. What is it?" Julianna asked.
"Ryan. Listen to it. Andrew Ryan. Andrew Ryan Clooney." George said.
"Sounds good." Julianna said and smiled up at him.
"What do you think?" George asked Madison. She smiled.
"It's good, but I don't care. As long as I get Andrew." She said. George laughed and turned back to Julianna. She smiled and nuzzled his neck. Madison moved away from them and headed into the kitchen.
"I'm getting something to drink. Is there anything you want?" She asked the two of them. Julianna shook her head no.
"Iced tea." George said. Madison nodded.
"Coming right up." She said and left the room. George placed his hand on Julianna's stomach and felt a slight movement against his hand.
"I felt him." He murmured. Julianna smiled.
"He's being pretty active today." Julianna said. George chuckled and bent down and kissed her stomach.
"Hey Andrew. Aren't you glad you have a name now?" He chuckled and kissed her stomach again before straightening. "I love you, Jules." He said, running his fingers through her hair. She smiled and kissed him gently.
"I love you, too, George." Madison watched through the doorway of the kitchen as they cuddled together. George had one arm around Julianna and this other free hand was stroking her stomach slightly. Madison smiled and hoped that one day she herself would find a love like theirs.
