"Hello?" Julianna asked as she answered her telephone.
"Hey Jules." George replied on the other end. Julianna smiled.
"Hey George. What's up?" She asks.
"Oh nothing much, just got done watching ER." He says. She laughs softly.
"What is this, your weekly ER comments?" She asks. He chuckles lightly.
"I suppose so. You are very pregnant." George says. She giggles.
"Yeah, it's a real back ache." She says.
"Do they make you wear that thing all day, or do you get to take it off every now and then?" George asks.
"I get to take it off every now and then, but for the most part I have to keep it on all day practically. It sucks. More because I know it's not the real thing." Julianna says.
"Yeah, well, you're also carrying twins!" George says. She laughs slightly.
"You never do anything half way, do you George?" Julianna asks.
"Hey, that was Doug, not me." George says. She laughs.
"Oh, that's right, you'd never let yourself get into that position." She says.
"What position?" He asks.
"A father." She says.
"How do you know I wouldn't want to become a father?" George asks.
"Well, you haven't expressed any need to have children." Julianna says.
"Well, maybe I've just not found the woman who wants to carry my children and who I want to carry my children." George says.
"I'm sure there are tons of women out there who would carry your child if you asked them to." Julianna says.
"Yeah, well I don't want those tons of women to carry my children." He says.
"See, exactly, you don't want to become a father because there is no one out there who you want to have your children." She says.
"I never said that." George says.
"Well then who do you want to carry your children?" She asks. He laughs.
"No one I guess." He says, knowing he wasn't going to tell her that he wanted her to carry his children.
"See!" She exclaims. He sighs. There is no way to tell her what he thinks about this topic.
"So, what are you doing tomorrow?" George asks.
"I have to work half the day." She says.
"Well, I have an interview in the morning and then I have the afternoon off. Want to do something? You could come over and I could try out another gourmet meal on you, or something." George suggests.
"How about you come over here and I'll make us something. It's my turn." Julianna says.
"Okay, that sounds good. What time do you want me to be there?" George asks.
"Around 4 or 5 is good." Julianna replies.
"Alrighty. I'll see you then." George says.
"Okay. Bye George." Julianna says.
"Bye Jules." He replies and they hang up. They both smile down at their phones and head into their bedrooms to get some sleep.
o-------------o
George spoons some noodles into his mouth. Across from him, Julianna is doing the same. She looks up at him.
"Are we going to sit here in silence forever, or are we going to strike up a conversation about something?" She asks.
"About what?" He replies.
"I don't know." She says. They are silent for a few seconds, eating some more noodles. "Why did you kiss me like that the other night?" Julianna asks quietly, half afraid to hear his answer. The question had been boiling up inside her ever since it had happened and she had to ask. He freezes and clears his throat before glancing up at her and then back down to his noodles.
"I don't know..I..it was an impulse." He replies softly. She nods and waits a few seconds before asking her next question.
"Why was there any impulse there...to do it in the first place?" She asks, pushing the matter further, as she was not satisfied with his first answer. He shakes his head slightly and reaches up, rubbing his palm against his eye before letting it drop back to the table.
"I don't know, really..why it happened. I guess, it just did. You were there and we were close and having a...discussion and I just did it. I can't really explain why." He says. She nods.
"Okay, I was just..I was just wondering..y'know." She says and gets up, heading towards the sink with her empty bowl and spoon. She begins to wash it out and he looks at the back of her. He sighs silently and stands, making his way to the sink with his own bowl.
"Jules." He says. She looks at him out of the corner of her eye. "I'm sorry that had to happen. If I hurt you by just leaving like that I'm sorry even more. I shouldn't have left like that. It was just another impulse." He smiles ironically. "I guess I shouldn't follow my impulse's so much." He says. She shakes her head, not thinking about what she is saying.
"No...no, you should follow your impulses. Well, most of the time....That kiss was....I..nevermind." She says and takes off towards the living room, cursing silently at herself along the way. His brows knit together and he takes off after her.
"Jules?" He calls out. She sits down on the couch, staring down at the rug on the floor. He stands beside her. "It was what?" He asks gently. She shakes her head and bites her bottom lip gently. When she looks up at him she has tears in her eyes. "Oh, Jules." He says and bends down, placing his hands under her arm pits and pulling her up into a standing position. He wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her closer. He hates when she cries. She wraps her arms around his torso and tries desperately to fight off the tears as she buries her face into his neck, smelling his manly scent once again.
"Oh.." She whimpers softly. It's almost unbearable for her to be this close to him.
"Hey, hey..shh..." He whispers quietly, his arms surrounding her, pulling her up against him as he rubs her back softly. "What's wrong?" He asks. She pulls a few inches away from him, her eyes wet but her face dry. She looks into his eyes.
"George..I.." She whispers, but doesn't know how to continue. She decides to take a chance, not knowing if he will push her away or not. She presses her lips to his quickly, before he can pull away. He stands still, surprised, before his lips respond to hers. He pulls her tightly to him, crushing her mouth with his own. She moans softly through the kiss, almost overwhelmed with the whole ordeal. He pulls away from her slightly, his lips brushing against hers, but not kissing her.
"Jules." He whispers. She looks up at him, her arms moving up to surround his neck. She buries her face into his throat, planting soft, wild kisses along his Adam's apple. He groans softly, his head rolling forward, the side of his forehead against hers, his nose in her hair. She pushes him back, stumbling against the couch. She presses against him, forcing him to lay back on the couch as she crawls on top of him, pressing her lips to his once more. He places his hands on her face and pulls it away from him.
"George.." She whispers, wanting his lips against hers again. He shakes his head, his vision blurry.
"Jules, no. I..what do you want from me?" He asks. She leans her forehead against his.
"I want you, George." She whispers, trying to press her lips against his once more but he moves away from her.
"Jules, Jules, wait." He whispers.
"What?" She whispers.
"I want you to be sure this is what you want and I don't want this to be the only time it happens. If this is going to be a one time thing for you, then we are going to stop right now and I'll pretend it never happened." He says. She shakes her head.
"George...I.." She stops, pausing, not knowing how to find the words. "I want to be with you. You..." She stops once more. "You make me feel alive. I don't want this to be a one time thing." She closes her eyes. "Please." She whispers, afraid of rejection. He smiles slightly and nuzzles her neck.
"Let's go upstairs." He whispers. Her eyes open and she looks at him, her face lighting up in a lazy smile.
"George?" She asks.
"Let's go." He says, rolling off the couch and pulling her up with him.
o-------------o
Julianna woke the next morning and rolled over, reaching out for George. When she felt an empty bed, she opened her eyes and her heart dropped. Was he gone? She rolled out of bed and went to the door, grabbing her soft, green robe from the hanger on the door. She pulled it around her, snuggling into it as she tied it around her waist.
She began the journey downstairs and smiled when the smell of coffee hit her nose. He wasn't gone. She walked silently into the kitchen and saw him, standing in his boxers and a t-shirt, waiting for the coffee to finish, his back facing her. He reaches up with his left foot and scratches his right calf. She grins softly, standing in the doorway, watching him. She sighs silently and moves towards him as she wraps her arms around his waist. He tenses slightly, unsuspecting of her embrace.
"Jules..you startled me." He says, turning his head to look at her, her chin resting on his shoulder. She grins.
"I'm sorry. You just looked irresistible standing over her, in your boxers...in my kitchen this morning." She says. He chuckles and reaches back, rubbing his hands against her waist.
"Want some coffee?" He asks. She nods, hoping things between them would be civilized, and not like the other embarrassing morning afters with people you weren't familiar with.
"Mm..yeah." She replies, smelling the delicious aroma. He pours them each a mug and turns, moving out of her embrace and handing her the mug. She takes it into both her hands, letting her hands warm up as she smiles at him. He chuckles at her, looking at her messy hair. "What?" She asks, moving to sit down at the table. He shakes his head.
"You look cute all rumpled up in the morning." He says. She giggles, sipping from her mug, liking that he isn't being cold towards her. That was a good sign.
"George...You're insane." She says. He pulls out a chair beside her, setting his coffee mug onto the table.
"Why?" He asks and bends down, pulling her legs up into his lap. She grins, her heart becoming happier every second.
"You just are." She says. He chuckles and runs his hands over her ankles.
"Okay...I suppose I am." He says. She smiles and takes a drink of her coffee before setting it onto the table beside his. She looks away from him, out the window, staring at the blue waters of her pool. She grins slightly as a vulgar thought crosses her mind about what she would like to do with him in that pool. He looks at her grinning unconsciously and he smiles slightly, watching her, enthralled by her. She looks back at him.
"Are we going to tell people about us?" She asks suddenly, not even completely sure if there was an us, but she knew this would be an easy way to find out. He raises his eyebrows.
"As in...?" He asks.
"Our friends. The public." She says. He shrugs.
"Do you want to?" He asks. She shrugs.
"Do you?" She asks. He chuckles.
"I don't care either way. It's up to you if you want people to know. If you don't want everyone to know there's something going on, then I won't tell." He says.
"Well...what do you want out of this relationship?" She asks. He grins slightly.
"Exactly that." He says. "A relationship." He stops, pausing as he heart beat quickens. "I don't want us to be all about sex...that's not what I was...what I am looking for from you." He says. "You know how we talked about Celine and Ron and everything?..Well, it's like that, sort of. We were friends before this and I want to be friends during this." He chuckles. "Don't get me wrong, sex with you is amazing, but I want us to be more then that." He says. She grins, pleased by his answer.
"Me too." She says. He grins.
"Good....So, public or not?" He asks. She nods.
"Public." She says.
"How do you want to go about telling people?" He asks.
"Lets not. They'll figure it out in due time if we are public together and you know..doing relationship things." She says. He chuckles.
"You mean like kissing and holding hands in public?" He asks. She blushes slightly, looking down.
"Well..yeah." She says. He grins.
"Okay. I can handle that." He says. She smiles.
"Alright." She says. He smiles at her, rubbing her feet slightly. "George?" She asks.
"Hmm?" He replies.
"If anything comes out of this relationship..can I suggest one thing?" She asks. He nods.
"Sure, go ahead." He says.
"Even if something happens to us...I want to be friends. No matter what. Our friendship was really important to me before all this. I want it to stay that way during and after." She says. He grins.
"Okay..I like that idea very much." He says. She smiles.
"Unless you cheat on me. I think you know where I stand with that." She says. He grins.
"I know and I promise I won't." He says, placing her feet on the floor before leaning forward and capturing her chin in his hand. He grins and presses his lips to hers sweetly. She sighs sweetly and moves her hands up, holding his face in her hands.

George sat in a limo, Julianna on his side. He ran his hand over her shoulder, fingering the strap of her little red dress. She grins at him.
"George? What are you doing?" She asks. He looks up at her.
"Thinking about how I would like to get you out of this little red dress and out of that red lipstick." He says. She giggles and runs her fingers through his hair slightly.
"You'll have to wait." She says. He grins and leans forward, nuzzling her cheek.
"I don't think I can." He says. She pulls away from him before he can kiss her.
"No..You'll have to wait..You're going to ruin my make-up." She says. He sighs.
"You're going to have to blind fold me the whole damn night if you expect me to keep my hands off of you." He says.
"Self-control, George, you've gotta get some." She says. He groans as she smiles at him.
"One of these days I'm going to just take you somewhere and chain you to a bed so you can't move and you have to do everything I say." He says. She giggles.
"George...I'll let you get me out of this little red dress and this lipstick when we get home if you behave. If you can't behave, we'll go to separate houses tonight." She says, a playful warning in her voice, even though she knows she probably wouldn't be able to resist him if he wanted to get her out of her little red dress later. He stops and looks at her, contemplating his two options. He sighs and leans back, away from her.
"Fine. I'll wait." He says, folding his arms across his chest. She giggles.
"We're almost there anyway." She says. He looks at her.
"Are you ready for this?" He asks. It was their first public appearance since they had gotten together.
"Yes." She says, smiling. She was so happy with him, even though their time as a couple was still brief.
"This is the big stuff, Jules. Everybody is going to be at this premiere and we are going to be interviewed many times." He says. She nods.
"I know, George. I'm ready. Are you?" She asks. He chuckles.
"Yes." He replies. She smiles.
"Good." She says and leans back against the interior of the limo.
o-------------o
Julianna took a deep breath as the limo door opened. She held George's hand tightly in her own as she stepped out of the limo, smiling. Cameras immediately began flashing as people expected Ron Eldard to be pulled out of the limo behind Julianna. As soon as the cameramen knew it was George instead of Ron, Julianna could actually here the clicking of the camera's speeding up. She smiled at George and he smiled back at her, squeezing her hand.
"Do you hear the cameras?" She whispers. He chuckles slightly and grins.
"Yes, I do." He replies and turns towards the crowd, smiling slightly. George moves through the crowd, holding onto Julianna as she walks beside him, gripping his hand. He grinned at her and the cameras, thrilled to be here with her, finally. They were almost immediately motioned towards an interview.
They stepped up onto the small podium where Julie Moran from Entertainment Tonight was. They grinned at her, still gripping each others hands.
"Well, hello.." Julie says, handing them a microphone. George takes it into his free hand, smiling at her.
"Hello Julie." He says. She grins.
"So...are you two...you know, a couple?" Julie asks. George grins.
"This is our first official public announcement, and yes." George answers. Julie grins.
"Oh, that's fantastic. Julianna what happened to Ron?" Julie asks. George moves the microphone towards Julianna.
"Oh..I guess it just wasn't meant to be. We broke up about 3 weeks ago." Julianna says. Julie nods.
"How long have you two been together?" She asks, excited to be getting all the first juicy information about the new couple.
"Just under three weeks." George replies. Julianna grins, holding in her own excited giggle.
"That's great. Well..I'm sure you two want to be going in about now. Thanks for the interview." Julie says. Julianna and George nod, handing the microphone back to the man standing beside the camera and stepping down off the podium as Sarah Jessica Parker steps up onto the podium after them.
"Whew!" George exclaims. She giggles and squeezes his hand with both of hers.
"That was so exciting!" She says. He chuckles and kisses her cheek.
"Yeah, let's go inside and let our friends and colleagues know." He says. She nods.
"I'm ready!" She says and he grins, leading her into the building.

Noah Wyle stood holding hands with his fiancé, Tracy. Ming-Na was standing beside them and they were talking when all of a sudden, Ming-Na spotted George and Julianna getting interviewed over Noah's shoulder.
"Why are they being interviewed together?" Ming-Na asks, mostly talking to herself. Noah and Tracy turn, immediately spotting George and Julianna. Noah's mouth drops open.
"Are they holding hands?" Noah asks.
"It looks like it." Tracy spoke up. Noah's eyebrows knitted together.
"That's odd. She just broke up with Ron three weeks ago." Noah said. The public didn't know about the break-up, but Julianna had told her closest friends. George and Julianna smiled politely at the man interviewing them before they scooted out of the way and headed towards Noah, Tracy, and Ming-Na.
"Hey guys!" Julianna exclaims happily. She was completely enjoying herself.
"What are you two doing?" Ming-Na asked, smiling widely. George shrugged.
"Oh, we just got done interviewing." He replied, acting serious. Ming-Na rolled her eyes.
"What are you really doing?" Noah asked. Julianna giggled, squeezing George's hand.
"Going public." Julianna replied, her eyes shining.
"And how long has this been going on?" Ming-Na asked.
"Just a few days after I broke up with Ron." Julianna replied, wrinkling her nose slightly.
"Well congratulations you two." Tracy said. They smiled.
"Thank you." They replied at the same time, smiling happily to each other.

George and Julianna walked into another movie premiere. They had been in New York, visiting Julianna's father and now they were going to another premiere in the city since they were already there. They smiled at the cameras as they walked in. Julianna's eyes traveled around the room, looking among her peers. She nearly groaned aloud at who she saw.
"Oh God, I forgot!" Julianna says.
"Forgot what?" George asks.
"This is going to be awkward as hell." Julianna said.
"What?" George asks, thoroughly confused.
"Ron's friend, James Noyes is in this movie. I completely forgot. And Ron's here." Julianna says. George immediately looks around.
"Where?" George asks.
"Over there to our right. He's being interviewed with some blonde." Julianna says.
"I think that is Kendall Gallant. She's a model." George says. Julianna looks at him, raising her eyebrows.
"She was a friend of one of my exes." George says, pinking slightly. Julianna rolls her eyes.
"George, I know you've had previous girlfriends." She says, pulling him into the crowd.
"Do you want to leave? We can leave." George says. She looks at him, her eyes puzzled.
"Do you think I would want to leave just because of him?" Julianna asks. He shrugs.
"Do you?" George asks. She shakes her head.
"No. He's all the more reason to stay. I can show him that I got over him...quickly." Julianna says. George chuckles.
"Okay then. Let's go!" He exclaims, pulling her into the crowd. Julianna kept her eye on Ron as he was being interviewed. For what reason he was being interviewed, she wasn't sure. As far as she knew, he wasn't in the midst of any new projects. She shrugged as George pulled her into an interview of their own.
After the interview, Julianna turned her head, searching for Ron once more. She spotted him and he was staring at her and George. She knew he must have known about the two of them being together, considering it had been public for about a month now, but this was the first time they had seen each other since the break up. As their eyes met, she could practically feel the heat burn from his eyes to hers. She merely smirked at him and turned towards George, moving closer to him and smiling. He chuckled, not noticing Ron as he kissed her forehead and pulled her towards their peers to mingle.
An hour later, Julianna and George had separated. Julianna was talking to Glenn Close and George was talking to a producer that Julianna had never heard of. Julianna excused herself from the conversation with Glenn and backed away, bumping into someone.
"Oh, excuse me." Julianna says as she turns around to look and see who she nearly ran over. She merely smiled when she saw it was Ron and his date. George looks up from his conversation with the producer and spots Ron, the blonde on his arm, and Julianna, standing awkwardly. He immediately excuses himself from the conversation and makes his way to Julianna's side, feeling protective. He stepped up beside her just as she asked Ron how he was.
"I'm fine, thanks." He smiled at the blonde on his arm. "I'd like to introduce you to Kendra Gallant." He smiled at the woman. "Kendra, this is Julianna and George, as I'm sure you know." He says, icily. She nods, smiling fakely.
"Nice to meet you." She said.
"You too." Julianna replied, her voice and smile warm, although she was sure her eyes betrayed her. She recognized the woman's voice from the phone and she felt a tiny kernel of hatred flare up inside her. She was jealous and she couldn't help it. Then another thought crosses her mind and makes her worry. All of a sudden she saw Cate Blanchett over Kendra's, not Kendall's, shoulder. Cate was waving and smiling at Julianna. Julianna grinned widely.
"Excuse us." Julianna says and pulls George along as she goes to talk to Cate.
"Hey!" Cate says and she and Julianna exchange quick hugs.
"How are you?" Julianna asks. It had been awhile since she had seen her friend.
"I'm good." Cate said, looking at George, who had his hand up on Julianna's back. "Just look at you two." Cate said, smiling widely. George chuckled softly and Julianna smiled. "You look so right together." Cate said. Julianna giggled. "It's like you mesh."
"Well, thank you." Julianna said. Half of her mind was on the conversation and the other half was on something she desperately needed to tell George. She knew it would have to wait.
o-------------o
Julianna sighed gratefully as the limo driver pushed the door shut behind her. George smiled at her.
"Are you okay?" He asks. She looks at him.
"About what?" She asks.
"About everything." George says. She smiles at him.
"I'm glad I got to have the confrontation with Ron." She smiles and shrugs, looking down at her hands. "I have to admit I was slightly jealous of Kendra. But not because she has Ron now, no. I was jealous because she had him when I thought I had him. He was never really mine, y'know?" She asks. George nods, letting this thought linger briefly.
"Am I yours?" He asks, mostly teasing. She grins and scoots closer to him.
"I want you to be." She says. He grins and leans down, leaning his forehead against hers.
"I want to be yours." He says. She smiles.
"Then you are. And I'm yours." She said. He chuckled and went to kiss her, but she caught his head in her hands.
"George, I need you ask you something. I want you to be completely honest with me." Julianna requests. He nods his agreement. "Do you think that the reason I am with you is because I want to get back at Ron? Earlier I remembering saying that I wanted to show Ron that I got over him quickly and since, frankly, that's the truth, and I need to know if you think I got together with you because of him." Julianna says. He smiles softly, her hands still cradling his face.
"When we first got together I was too excited and too caught up in you to think about it. And then as we started to settle into the relationship, I have to admit it crossed my mind. I never really thought that was the reason, but it did occur to me. But I know now, that it's not the reason. If it was, you wouldn't be here with me right now. You would have dumped me soon after the confrontation," He grins, "but you didn't. And you're in here, asking me that question and I know that you're with me because you want to be." George says. She smiles.
"George, I'm not with you because of him. I never was. I never even thought about that, until tonight and I was nearly bursting with the need to ask you. I don't want you to think that, ever." Julianna says. He smiles.
"I won't." He replies and leans down, kissing her warmly. She sighs softly, wrapping her arms around his neck as she nearly melts into his body. He wrapped his arms around her waist, wanting her close to him.
