"Hello?" He asks through the phone. She pauses.
"Hey Ron." She says quietly.
"Jules? Hey!" Ron says.
"How are you?" She asks.
"Fine. Fine. And you?" He asks.
"I'm okay." She says.
"So, what's up? I haven't exactly heard from you in awhile." He says. She rolls her eyes.
"We ugh..need to talk about something." Julianna says.
"Okay..." He says, his voice trailing off.
"Well..um..What the hell. I'm pregnant." Julianna says. She hears him gasp through the phone and then is silent. "Ron?" She asks.
"Is the baby mine?" He asks.
"I uh..I don't know." She says.
"You don't know?" He asks, incredulous.
"Um..no." She says.
"So it could be mine?" He asks.
"It's a possibility." She replies. He sighs loudly.
"Why didn't you tell me?" He asks angrily.
"Because I know you don't want a baby and I didn't want to disrupt your perfect little life in New York." She says, just as angrily. He sighs again, not wanting to fight with her.
"Who is the other guy?" He asks.
"That's none of your business!" She says, half surprised he would ask that, the other half of her knowing he would.
"Well..I think it is! Especially if you cheated on me!" Ron shot back.
"No. I'm not going to tell you. That's my business, not yours." She says.
"Fine. Are you going to get a DNA test to see who's the father?" He asks.
"An amino? And no. I'm going to wait." She says.
"What? Why?" He asks.
"Because. If they do an amino, there's risks for the baby, that I'm not willing to take."
"I think you should do it." He says.
"It's not your decision." She replies hotly.
"It could be my baby! I have every right to know." He says.
"It's my body..and for sure, my baby. You have only the third of the right that I do. I don't want to do it and the other man agrees." She says.
"He what? You talked to him about this?" Ron asks angrily.
"Yes I did. He's here in L.A. and he found out what was going on by accident, so of course I talked to him first." She says.
"Are you together?" Ron asks.
"Maybe." She replies.
"What the hell kind of answer is that?" Ron asks.
"He wants to be and I do to, but I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do." Julianna says. Ron snorts.
"Well..that's great. When are you due?" He asks.
"December 15th." Julianna replies, coolly.
"If you change your mind about the amino, call me. If not..call me when you're in labor." He says and hangs up. She places the phone into it's receiver and she walks slowly to the living room. She sits on the couch and stares at the coffee table in a trance.
George walks into the house less then an hour later and finds her in the same position.
"Hey Jules." He says. She doesn't answer him. He sits beside her. "Jules? You okay?" He asks. She looks at him.
"I shouldn't have called." She says.
"Called who?" George asks, touching her arm.
"I shouldn't have called him. I knew what he would say. I shouldn't have called him." She murmurs again.
"Ron?" George asks. She nods.
"I shouldn't have called." She says again, in a trance-like state.
"Hey. What happened?" George asks. She shakes her head, not answering. "Hey..Jules..are you alright?" George asks, concerned. He lowers his head to meet her eye.
"Are we together?" She asks. He sits up, confused.
"What?" He asks.
"We..you and me..are we together?" Julianna asks, looking at him.
"I don't know. Are we?" George asks, smiling slightly.
"Please. Can we?" Julianna asks. He chuckles.
"So you want us to be together?" He asks. She nods.
"Yes. Please." She says, her chin trembling. He takes her face into his hands.
"Shh..yes. Okay. We're together." He says. She nods, the tears finally falling. "Hey, hey. Jules. What's wrong?" He asks.
"He wanted to know who you were. I wouldn't tell him. Said it wasn't any of his business. He wanted to know if we were together. I didn't know. So I told him that I wanted to be but I wasn't sure if we were. He wanted me to do an amino but I said no, I wasn't going to. He asked the due date and I told him and he then said if I changed my mind about the amino to call him and if I don't then to call him when I was in labor and he hung up." She says.
"Jerk." George mutters. He wraps Julianna in his arms, kissing her hair. "It's okay. I promised I would be there and you know I keep my promises. Don't worry about him. I'll always be here for you." George says.

By the time Julianna was 21 weeks, she was in every tabloid across America.
"It was bound to happen sometime." Julianna told George.
"Yeah." He says, knowing that she was still upset by it.
"God, I just wish I could have held out a little longer." She says. He nods.
"You held out 12 weeks..I'd say that's pretty good." He says.
"Did you tell anyone?" She asks. He shakes his head.
"Nope. Not even my mother. I knew how important it was to you." He says. She nods.
"It was Ron. Only my parents and sisters knew and they know what it's like and wouldn't have told anyone." Julianna says.
"He's an ass, anyways." George says.
"No kidding." Julianna says.
"So..are you going to go out in public now?" George half teases. She smiles at him.
"I guess so. But if you want to stay out of the tabloids, I can't go out in public with you." She says.
"I don't care about that." George says.
"Yeah, but I do. Ron will find out." She says. He nods.
"Yeah, your right." He says.
"And you'd think they would've figured it out by now considering you're here every night and you leave every morning." Julianna says.
"Stupid." George simply suggests. She laughs.
"Evidently." She says.
"We probably just jinxed it though." He says. She nods. He wraps his arms around her from behind and rests his hands on her stomach. She leans back to him and he kisses her neck. She turns around in his arm and kisses him gently.
"George?" She asks.
"Hmm?" He asks, nuzzling her neck. She places her hands on the side of his face and lifts
his head up.
"George." She says.
"What?" He asks, smiling. She leans her forehead against his.
"You know that I want this baby to be yours, right?" She asks. He nods.
"I hope so." He says.
"I do." She replies. He smiles warmly. She returns the smile. "And..there's something that you should know, that I haven't really expressed with words." She says. She pauses briefly. "I'm in love with you." She says. His face breaks out into a huge grin and his heart surges.
"I love you so much." He says and kisses her deeply and passionately.
"Upstairs." She murmurs against his lips.
"Mm hmm." He replies, pulling her up the stairs without breaking apart the kiss.

"Hello?" Julianna asks, answering the phone.
"Hey Jules." Alexandra, Julianna's sister, says.
"Oh, hey Alex." Julianna says.
"How are you feeling?" Alex asks.
"We're fine." She says. Alex chuckles.
"So Lil Sis, are you busy?" Alex asks.
"Nope, why?" Julianna asks.
"Can I come over? I've got something to show you." Alex says.
"Sure. I could use some company other then you-know-who." Julianna says. Alex laughs.
"Alright. I'll be over there within the next hour. See ya sis." She says.
"Bye Alex." Julianna says and they hang up.
A little while later Alex walks into Julianna's house.
"Hey." Julianna says, handing Alex a glass of cider.
"Oh, hey. I see you were prepared." Alex says, lifting her glass. Julianna laughs.
"Well..I'm having a craving and you were coming, so I thought why not." Julianna says.
"Your in a good mood." Alex observes out loud. Julianna's smile fades.
"Oh no. What bad news did you bring?" Julianna asks, holding her hand out, knowing it's got to be a tabloid. Alex sighs.
"Man, you're good." She says and reaches into her purse. She pulls out the Star. Right there on the front page is an old picture of George and Julianna. It read 'Could He Be The Daddy?'.
"Dammit!' Julianna exclaims, flipping through the magazine looking for the article. She reads it and her eyes fill with tears. She throws it across the room and looks up at her sister. "What the hell did we do, to deserve this?" Julianna asks. Alex shakes her head sympathetically. "I'm only 23 weeks. Couldn't they have just minded their own damn business for a few more weeks?" Julianna asks. Alex wraps her sister in her arms.
"It's okay sweetie." Alex says, rubbing her back. Julianna cries quietly into her sister's shoulder.
"It's not fair." She whispers.

Later that night, Julianna is sitting on the couch with George. She has just finished talking to him about it when the phone rings.
"Let the machine get it." George says. She shakes her head.
"I'll get it." She says, reaching over to the coffee table and picking up the cordless on the third ring.
"Hello?" She asks.
"Is it George?" She hears Ron asks.
"What?" Julianna asks, looking at George. He immediately picks up on her slight panic. 'Ron' she mouthed to him. An angry look passed over his face.
"Is. George. The. Other. Man?" Ron asks very slowly, as if she is stupid.
"Maybe." Julianna says.
"God damn!" Ron shouts, causing Julianna to jump slightly. "Was this before or after we broke up?" Ron asks.
"Ron.." Julianna says.
"Was it before?" Ron asks, getting angrier by the second. She doesn't answer.
"Damn you!" He yells.
"Ron, please." Julianna says, her eyes tearing up.
"Please what?" Ron asks.
"You're scaring me." Julianna says softly. He scoffs.
"Right. That's great. Are you sure that George and I are the only two options?" Ron asks.
"Yes." Julianna says. George looks about ready to grab that phone from her hands and yell.
"Well that's good. Wouldn't want you to be too big of a slut now would we?" Ron asks and hangs up the phone before she can respond. She slowly hangs up and looks at George. He wraps his arms around her tightly and she rubs her face into his neck, not saying anything or crying.
"That no good son of a bitch." George murmurs under his breath.
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
"George?" Julianna asks.
"Hmm?" He asks, looking up at her.
"Uh..next week..Monday. I have an OB appointment, remember?" She asks, buttering her toast.
"Yeah." George says, giving her his full attention.
"I uh, was wondering if you would come with me?" Julianna asks. His whole face lights up.
"You want me to?" George asks.
"Please." Julianna says. He stands.
"Of course I'll go." George says, wrapping his arms around her.
"I'm getting an ultrasound. We can see the baby." Julianna says. His face lights up even more.
"You do know this will be a definite giveaway that I'm the father..or could be." He says.
"I know..but I figure that the public will find out sooner or later..so why not sooner?" Julianna asks. He smiles.
"Good point." He gets a sly smile on his face. "So...do we want to know if we have ourselves a ballet dancer or a baseball player?" George says.
"I want to know...if that's okay with you." Julianna says, looking at his shoulder and picking a piece of fuzz off his shirt, then looking back up at him with a smile on her face.
"Yeah..then we can get the nursery all decorated for our little girl in pink and buy pretty little dresses and hair stuff." George says. She laughs.
"You really want a girl, don't you?" She asks. He nods.
"I do." He says.
"You know she probably won't need hair stuff for a while." Julianna says.
"If she's your daughter she'll need a bus load of hair stuff." George says, lifting her hair off her neck and letting it fall. Julianna laughs.
"Yeah, my mom said I had a lot of hair when I was born and both my sisters were bald." She says. George chuckles and runs his fingers through her hair, then massaging her scalp. "Mmm..that feels good." She says, rubbing her head against his hands. He chuckles and kisses her neck. "George?" She asks. He lifts his head.
"Hmm?" He asks.
"Will you be disappointed if it's a boy?" Julianna asks.
"No...but I really want a little girl. But if it's a boy, I wouldn't be disappointed, no. Then I'll just have someone to take to hockey..and football...and basketball..and baseball games." Julianna laughs.
"Or a little girl to take to dance practice and recitals..or even games. You never know, she might like sports! I wasn't much of a dancer when I was younger. I was a tomboy. My sisters danced because they liked it and I did it to please my mom." Julianna says.
"Well..maybe she'll dance and play sports." George says. Julianna laughs and wraps her arms around his neck snuggly. She rubs her nose against his.
"I love you." Julianna says. He smiles.
"I love you too." He replies, kissing her warmly. He presses her against the kitchen counter as they continue kissing. He lifts her up and sits her down onto the counter.....right onto her toast. She squeals and jumps down, scattering the bread to the floor. He gives her a surprised look and then he sees the mess they've made. She starts laughing hysterically as he attempts to wipe the butter off her butt with a towel and laughs along with her.

On Monday, George took the morning off from work so he could go with Julianna to the doctor's.
He got out of his jeep and walked around to the other side, helping Julianna out of the car. She placed her hands on her stomach and he shut her door. She let her hands drop to her side and she walked towards the door. He walked beside her closely.
"You alright?" He asks. She gives him a nervous smile.
"Just nervous." She says.
"Why?" He asks.
"I always get scared that something might be wrong when I come to these things." She says. He smiles at her.
"Everything's going to be just fine." He says. She nods and smiles, glad that he is with her.
"Thank you for coming." She says, walking into the building as he held the door for her. He had on sunglasses and a hat. She took of her sunglasses, but he left his on as she walked up to the desk and he stayed a few feet behind her, trying not to be taken notice of.
"It'll be a couple of minutes." George heard the receptionist say. Julianna thanks her and turns around, leading George to an area where they can sit. They sit beside each other and the other patients give them curious stares. Julianna shifts uncomfortably in her seat.
"I'm sorry." George whispers quietly to her. She looks at him.
"For what?" She asks.
"Making them stare at you." He whispers. She nods.
"It's fine. You just gotta ignore them." She says, squeezing his hand reassuringly and smiling. She sighs and smiles again. "Baby's awake." She murmurs. He smiles.
"Is she active?" George asks.
"Yes..and it might not be a she!" Julianna says. He chuckles.
"Maybe the more I say it, the more chance there is!" George says. She laughs quietly.
"Well I hope it's a she too." Julianna says and he smiles, patting her leg before turning and looking around. He slips his sunglasses off, figuring everyone has already recognized him. As he does this, an older woman sitting over in the corner with someone who apparently is her daughter, nods approvingly. He smiles quickly at her before turning back to Julianna and chuckling lightly under his breath.
"What?" She whispers.
"Apparently someone approves of me being here." He says.
"Who?" She asks, confused.
"There's a older woman..I'd say in her fifty's with a younger woman who is probably her daughter and when I looked at her, she nodded approvingly at me." George says. Julianna smiles, wanting to look but not wanting the woman to think they were talking about her.
"Well..I wish everyone thought that way." She said.
"Well..." He starts but is cut off a nurse.
"Julianna?" She calls out into the waiting room. Julianna and George stand and he places his hand on her back supportingly. The butterflies in her stomach wake up and the baby gives her a strong kick. She smiles at George nervously as they follow a nurse through the door and back into an exam room. "Dr. Michaels will be in shortly. I just need you to change into this gown." The nurse says, handing her a gown.
"Thank you." Julianna says. She nods and exits the room. Julianna quickly changes into the gown and sits on the table. George pulls up a stool and sits in front of her.
"Everything will be fine. You said yourself that the baby is moving." George says.
"Yeah. She's kicking." Julianna says. She reaches out and takes George's hand into her own. She places their hands on her stomach as the baby kicks. His face lights up.
"I'll never get tired of feeling that." George says. She smiles, her body relaxing under his gentle touch.
"I love you George." She says. He smiles.
"I love you both." He says and gets ready to lean over and kiss her when there's a knock on the door. George moves away slightly and calls out.
"Come in." He says. The door opens and a brunette walks in. She smiles warmly.
"Hello Julianna. I'm Dr. Michaels." She says, introducing herself to George, having met Julianna many times. He stands up, and offers his hand.
"I'm sure you know who I am, but it's George." George says. She chuckles, shaking his hand.
"Yes..I know who you are, but it's nice to meet you." She says and turns to Julianna as George takes a sit on his stool, beside Julianna. "So how are we feeling?" She asks, getting down to business.
"I'm good. Everything's fine." Julianna says.
"That's good news." She says.
"Yeah..this little one wants to be a soccer player I think." Julianna says. Dr. Michaels smiles.
"Around this time of the pregnancy do you ever notice your baby becoming more active, kind of excited, when perhaps it hears a certain sound or voice?" Dr. Michaels asks.
"Yes, actually. Is that good?" Julianna asks, looking at George, thinking of how the baby always responds to his voice and touch.
"That's very good. It means your baby isn't deaf and it means it's beginning to respond to certain sounds." Julianna smiles, relieved. "Alright, are we ready to take a look?" Dr. Michaels asks. George smiles and Julianna nods enthusiastically.
"Yup." She says.
"Alright." Dr. Michaels says, moving around and getting some supplies. Julianna lifts her gown and Dr. Michaels spreads some green gel on her stomach. Julianna sucks her stomach in lightly.
"Cold." She says. Dr. Michaels smiles, turning to the machine and flicking it on. She moves the paddle around a little.
"Do you want to know the baby's sex? We should be able to tell." Dr. Michaels says.
"Yes, please." Julianna says, smiling. George takes her hand into his own as they watch the screen. George's eyes fill with tears when he hears the heartbeat.
"Good strong heartbeat. And there's your baby." Dr. Michaels says, pointing out some movement on the screen.
"She's beautiful." George says. Dr. Michaels looks at him.
"She?" She asks.
"I'm hoping." George says, grinning goofily, looking back at the screen. He squeezes Julianna's hand tightly and she squeezes back, smiling. Dr. Michaels smiles and nods.
"Well..right here..." She says pointing to a spot on the screen. "Is your baby sucking it's thumb.....And...you definitely do not have a shy child because it is openly showing that she is a girl
and proud of it." Dr. Michaels says, pointing to a lower spot on the screen.
"A girl?" George asks.
"You're sure?" Julianna asks.
"Almost positive. Unless you have a really shy son, but I'm willing to bet it's a girl." Dr. Michaels says. George laughs happily.
"I knew it." He says, squeezing Julianna's hand. She smiles up at him, seeing the happiness in his eyes and for the first time she knew for sure that he wouldn't leave her or this baby, regardless of who's child it was.
"Alright, everything check's out fine. I'm going to get you a picture." Dr. Michaels says. She hits a button and then flips off the machine before wiping the gel off of Julianna's belly. "I'll be back." She says and exits the room so Julianna can change. George smiles lovingly at her and she wraps her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly to her.
"Thank you." She whispers in his ear.
"For what?" He asks.
"For coming with me. For being here and promising to stay. For loving us." Julianna says.
"Your welcome Jules." He says and kisses her sweetly. She smiles.
"We're having a girl." She says. He chuckles happily.
"I knew it." He says. She giggles.
"God, I just can't wait til she's here." Julianna says. He smiles.
"Me neither." He says.
-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-
"We need to start picking out names!" George says excitedly, the day after the ultrasound.
"How about we pick out one boy name, just in case, and two girl names, just in case we change our minds." Julianna suggests.
"Okay." George says, smiling excitedly.
"Well what are your ideas? I can see your about to pop." Julianna says.
"For a girl I like Mackenzie, Madison, Olivia, Alexis, Zoe, Kay, umm..." He says, racking his brain. She laughs. "What?" He asks. She shakes her head.
"Nothing. Any boy names?" She asks.
"Aaron." George says.
"Just Aaron?" She asks.
"I like that name for a boy." He says with a shrug.
"Okay, so Aaron what?" She asks.
"You pick." He says.
"Aaron Nicholas?" She asks, thinking of George's father.
"I like that." He says with a smile.
"So Aaron Nicholas it is." She says. He nods.
"Yeah, but it's a girl so.." He says. He laughs. She smiles.
"Alright, alright. What's your fave name?" She asks.
"Mackenzie." He replies.
"That is adorable. The more I think about it, the more I like it." She says, smiling.
"Really?" He asks. She nods.
"Yes. So what about the other name?" She asks.
"Olivia?" He asks.
"I like that. Mackenzie what and Olivia what?" She asks.
"I dunno. You decide." He says.
"I like Mackenzie Zoe." She says. His eyes light up.
"That's perfect!" He says. She smiles.
"Okay..Olivia..Olivia..Olivia Kay!" She says.
"Yeah!" He says.
"Okay..but I still like Mackenzie Zoe better." She says.
"Me too." He agrees.
"That was easy." She says, laughing. He chuckles.
"I figured it would take us the rest of the time to figure it out." He says.
"Me too." She says.
"Oh well. We thought wrong." He says and kisses her. She smiles through the kiss but kisses him back.
