+++---+++---+++

I don't know what this is, exactly. I just had the sudden urge to write, but I didn't wanna work with anything I had started already. I just felt like writing something short and sweet and simple and cute and nice. And I wrote to give you guys something new to read and comment on if you'd like. I didn't edit this or anything, so I apologize for any mistakes. I was in a hurry to put it up because I wanted to go to bed. So here it is, crappy or not.

Another thing..No Ron. He's just too much of a hassle to write into this story.

"Jules, hey!" George said as he snagged Julianna's arm after jogging into the hallway of his big, two story house.

"George!" She said and gave him a hug. He smiled and held her at arm's length.

"Where ya going?" He asked and she smiled.

"To the bathroom." She said. "I'm sorry I haven't been able to talk to you yet tonight. You've been a busy bee." He chuckled.

"Yeah, I guess when you're turning a year older, everybody wants to be your best friend."

"You're George Clooney, everybody wants to be your best friend every day." She replied, smiling fondly at him.

"You've got a point. But I'm sorry too that I haven't been able to catch up with you. That's why I ran after you in here." He said. She smiled some more and squeezed his hand.

"Are you having a good time?" She asked. He nodded.

"Yup."

"Good, that's all that matters." She replied.

"You've got a birthday coming up here soon!" He said and raised his eyebrows. She grinned.

"Yes, I do, and thank you for reminding me!"

"There's nothing wrong with getting older." He said.

"You can say that because you're a man. Plus you get more gorgeous as every year passes. Just ask every woman in America."

"Ha, funny!" He replied. "Do you think I get more handsome with every passing year?" He asked and slyly ran his hand over his hair. She laughed.

"Of course I do. I can only wish you'd fall hopelessly into my arms and beg me to let you ravish my body, just so I can ravish yours back!" She said dramatically. He laughed.

"We can make that happen!" He said. She rolled her eyes and smiled.

"Right!"

"What?" He asked. "You don't think I can be seductive?" She held up a hand.

"I'm sure you can be, George." She said, but kept a hint of disbelief in her voice to tease him.

"I'll show you!" He said and leaned close to her. Her eyes widened with a bit of surprise. "I'll give you one of my infamous Doug Ross kisses which I just know you loved!" He said and grinned. With a sly ease, he curled his arm around her waist before she knew it happened and pulled her against him. His mouth slid over hers and he teased her lips into kissing his back. Her head reeled and she had to grip his shirt for balance.

As he kissed her, he realized that what he had meant to be a joke, a play kiss, had turned into something real. Something awesome. When she sighed into his mouth, he knew he couldn't stop. He gathered her closer, and lifted the hand that wasn't around her waist and slid it into her acres of thick, curly hair. He pressed her head just a bit closer and deepened the kiss.

Julianna felt her knees go weak, and she wondered how this could be happening. They had kissed on ER so many times before that it had just become natural. It had always been natural. But it had never been this real, this primitive. She felt the rawness of it, of him pouring into her and she wanted to make love to him more than she had wanted anything ever in her life. This feeling of wanting him, wanting George, her best friend was a shock to the system and only made her weaker.

He felt his body tightening slowly, muscle by muscle, and he knew that he had to pull back now, or else his body would just ravage hers and swallow her up whole. And he knew that that could not happen. This was new, uncharted territory. He pulled back, but kept her steady with his arms, because he could feel her weakness.

"Wow." She said and gulped a big breath of air. She didn't even look into his eyes, she just rested her forehead against his shoulder.

"That was...not what I was aiming for." He said. She managed to giggle a bit.

"No kidding."

"Jules..I.." He started but was interuppted when somebody burst into the hallway. Julianna and George jumped apart quickly, as if they had been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. They both started at the intruder, Eriq LaSalle. He grinned at both of them with a secret twinkle in his eye. George and Julianna both knew he had saw more than he should have, but he didn't say anything. Julianna could feel her face burning.

"George, you're needed in the main room." Eriq said with a dramatic sweep of his arm. George nodded and touched his hand gently to Julianna's elbow and turned. She quickly turned and headed for her original destination, the bathroom.

Before they headed back into the room, Eriq stopped George and grinned.

"And just what was it that I interuppted?" He asked. George shook his head and ran his hands through his hair.

"I don't really know. That was...the first time something like that's ever happened."

"What did happen?" Eriq asked.

"I kissed her." George paused. "Seriously. Big time." Eriq chuckled.

"Was it that awful?" He asked. George met his gaze and Eriq had to laugh at the slightly dazed look on George's face.

"No, it was that amazing." He shook his head and they headed back to the party.

An hour after Julianna had emerged from the bathroom, she stood talking with Alex Kingston. Alex was trying to carry on a conversation with Julianna, but she just wasn't paying attention. Julianna kept glancing oddly at George, and Alex couldn't contain her curiousity.

"What's going on?" She asked.

"Hmm?" Julianna replied half-mindedly.

"With you and George?" Alex continued. Julianna's head whipped up to attention. Alex grinned.

"Nothing. Where'd you hear that?" Julianna asked. Alex laughed.

"Nowhere, Jules, I saw it on your face." She said. Julianna sighed and couldn't contain a wicked grin.

"We kissed." She said and lowered her voice.

"Ooh, really?" Alex asked, lowering her voice also.

"Yeah. It was so weird. We were just talking and joking around and then boom, his lips were on mine and I couldn't think. It was....out there." Julianna said.

"Was it good though?" Alex asked. Julianna's eyes widened and she nodded, still grinning.

"Hell yes! It was great. Jesus!" Julianna let out a breath and ran her left hand through her hair. Alex laughed. "Eriq caught us right after it happened and we were still kinda..standing there. He knows."

"Really? Hm, I'll have to ask him what exactly he saw."

"Alex!" Julianna admonished with a playfully stern look on her face. Alex grinned. "Just don't tell anybody else. I need to talk to George about it first. We didn't exactly have time." Alex nodded.

"Cross my heart." She said. Julianna grinned.

"Thanks."

"Give me all the details!" Alex said to Eriq after she had managed to corner him at the snack bar in George's 'party room'. Eriq grinned.

"So you heard?"

"Julianna told me you caught them red-handed." He laughed.

"Yup, that was me."

"Give me details." She demanded. He chuckled.

"Well I walked in and she had her head on his shoulder and they were like standing really close. Then they jumped apart really fast and looked at me with guilty looks on their faces. Julianna's face turned bright red." He said. Alex laughed.

"This is so exciting. Did George tell you not to tell anyone?" Eriq nodded.

"Yeah."

"Jules said the same." She said.

"Look." Eriq said and tilted his head toward George and Julianna. George touched Julianna's elbow gently.

"Hey." George said to her quietly.

"Hi." She said and smiled a little shyly.

"Do you think you could stay for awhile after the party? So we can talk?" He asked. She nodded.

"Of course." She said. He grinned.

"Good." He said and brushed a quick kiss across her cheek before moving on. Julianna grinned a bit and looked down into her drink.

"That's so adorable." Alex whispered to Eriq and he laughed.

"I never thought I'd see the day when those two would recognize their feelings for each other."

"What?" Alex asked and looked at him with a quizzical look on her face. He chuckled.

"Ever since day one, you could tell that they were completely in love with each other. Anthony and I always made jokes over it."

"Really?" Alex said and raised her eyebrows with a grin.

George and Julianna saw the last guests through the door. Eriq and Alex had been the last two to leave and they had managed to tease the pair before George had finally convinced them to get out of there. George chuckled as he shut the door behind Alex and Eriq.

"Quite a pair of gossipers, those two." He said. She smiled, but her stomach was too nervous for her to enjoy his amusement as much as normal. "You're nervous." He said. She pressed a hand to her stomach and laughed a bit.

"You read me well."

"Isn't that just another sign?" He asked. She looked at him, a bit confused.

"Of what?" She asked.

"The fact that we might be good together." He said. Her eyes widened.

"George.."

"Just listen. We're best friends. We always get along. We can read each other like books. And nobody else kisses quite like you do." He said.

"I.." She was truly at a loss for words. He walked to her and cupped her cheek in his hand.

"I've wanted you from the very first time I saw you. And I know from that kiss, that you must want me too. Couldn't we give it a try?" He asked, hesitating for only a moment. She nodded a bit.

"Okay. I..I'd like that." She said.

"Really?" He asked and grinned. She nodded and smiled back at him.

"Really." He pressed his lips to hers and she giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around her waist and picked her up.

"This is great." He said and set her back on her feet. He slid her into a deep kiss and reveled in her. He knew that now that he had her, he'd never let her go. He'd cherish her forever and make sure she never left him. He'd tell her in due time that he loved her. His patience and love was never-ending when it came to her.
