Julianna sat on the couch at Anthony Edward's house. There was a party going on around her and she wasn't really having all that much fun. She turned her head to the left, looking around, searching for George. She felt the couch moving as someone sat down and she turned her head to the right, looking straight into George's face. A smile spread across his mouth.

"Lookin' for someone, sugar?" He asks. She rolls her eyes.

"You're annoying." She says. He chuckles, nudging her arm with his own.

"What are you doing over here, all by yourself, when there's a party going on around you?" He asks.

"I don't feel much like partying." She says.

"Why not?" He asks, a teasing stern look on his face. She shrugs.

"There's no reason to." She says. He shoots her a look.

"Jules..partying is a reason in itself." He says. She shrugs her shoulders and he becomes really concerned. "Jules..come on, what's wrong?" He asks.

"Nothing." She sighs.

"Yes there is. What is it?" He asks. She looks at him.

"Really..there's nothing. That's the whole point. There's no reason for me to celebrate...to party about." She says. He gives her a quizzical look.

"Jules, you're normally a pretty decent party animal. What's up with you lately?" He asks.

"Nothing is up with me!" She says, exasperated. She gets up from the couch, walking away from him. He looks after her as she walks back down the hall towards the restroom. He sits there for a few seconds before making up his mind. He is going to get to the bottom of this. He follows her down the hall, standing outside the bathroom as he waits for her. A minute or so later she comes out, looking at him.

"Are you mad at me?" He asks. She shakes her head, a tight smile on her lips.

"No, George. Look, I'm sorry." She says. He smiles, his ears perking up at the song that has just come on.

"You'll be forgiven...if you'll dance with me." He says. She smiles at him and nods her head.

"Okay." She says quietly. He smiles, satisfied, as he pulls her out towards the living room where other couples are dancing to the slow song. Everyone is dancing with someone..whether it be their friend or their lover. In Julianna's case, it's just her friend, although she wants more. He pulls her into his arms, wrapping his arms around her waist. She smiles and wraps her arms around his neck, letting her body rest against his lightly.

She looks over his shoulder, seeing the other people caught up in their own worlds or having their own private conversations.

"Looks like you're my new dance partner for the night." George says, smiling slightly. She smiles back at him, nodding a little bit as she feels his arms tighten around her, pulling her closer, probably not meaning to, she convinces herself.

She thinks back to the month ago when she had broken up with Ron. She remembered how George had talked to her about it. She also thought how odd it was. He hadn't dated anyone since then....and she hadn't seen him with anyone since she had become single. Normally he didn't become too serious with women...not all the time, but he frequently dated someone whether it be a girl he just met, or someone he knew and wanted to take out as friends. She sighed unconsciously and leaned further into him, not realizing she had done it. He smiled as her hair tickled his face and he took a deep breath, smelling her. She didn't notice it though, she was so caught up in her own thoughts of him.

"So do you have any plans for the rest of the night?" George asks Julianna as he helps her into her coat as they prepare to leave Tony's house from the party. She shrugs.

"I've got a date." She says. He raises his eyebrows and she giggles. "With my TV." She says. He chuckles.

"Well, want some company?" He asks. She grins.

"It's kind of late isn't it?" She asks.

"Are you tired?" He asks. She shakes her head.

"No." She replies.

"Well there you go. We can just go back to your place, pop in a movie or flip to a movie channel and wa-la! Instant fun!" He says. She laughs.

"Fun?" She asks, raising her eyebrows.

"Movies with George are always fun!" He says, chuckling. She slaps his arm playfully.

"What do you want to watch?" Julianna asks, sitting down on the couch beside George and looking at him. He shrugs, his eyes meeting hers, burning into hers.

"Doesn't matter." He says. She nods but cannot seem to take her eyes off his, trapped beneath his gaze. She finally shakes her head slightly, looking away from him and reaching down, grabbing the remote off the coffee table. Before she can turn her television on, his hand is on hers, taking the remote from her. She looks up at him as he places the remote back onto the table in front of them. He leans foreward, not sure what he is doing. His hand travels up to the side of her face, cupping her cheek in his hand. She stares at him, frozen to the spot, un-sure of what is happening.

"George...." She murmurs, her eyes locked with his.

"Shh.." He says, leaning foreward and pressing his lips to hers softly. She sighs into his mouth, immediately letting her body relax under his touch as she leans into him, one hand on his chest, the other resting idly in her lap. His other hand travels up to her face, cupping it between his big, warm hands as their lips press closer. She finally comes to her senses, and pulls her face away, but his hands still hold her head close to him.

"George, what are we doing?" She asks.

"I don't..." He swallows. "I don't know. I..I just, I want you, Jules." He says, pressing his lips to hers again, quickly this time. She knows she shouldn't do this, but her body is aching for him.

"George..I..." She pauses.

"Please, Jules." He whispers, his lips just millimeters from hers. She leans closer, her lips against his once more. He stands up, his lips never leaving hers as he pulls her along, half stumbling back to her room. When they make it into her room, he shuts the door behind them.

She knew she should never have let him into her bed. She had fallen asleep soon after they had finished, warm and sleepy, sated from the sex, in his arms. She was roused later to the sound of her bedroom door opening. She had laid there silently, not making a sound, not wanting to alert him. She had listened to him walk down the hall and eventually heard the front door closing.

She lay there sobbing, her heart aching. She had loved him ever since she had first laid eyes on him that day she had walked onto the set of ER. She had dreamt of the day she would be in his...or her bed with him. But it hadn't turned out the way she had wanted. The sex had been great. God damn great. Even afterwards when she had fallen asleep in his arms had been great. But waking up to him leaving was as far from great as you could get. She should have known that she was just like every other woman to him, someone to screw.

She muffled her sobs in her pillows, even though there was no one to hear her. How would she be able to go to work ever again? How would she face him? How would she kiss him on set, without remembering all of this and having the floodgate of emotions rush upon her? She had no idea the answer of any of these questions as she lay alone in the dark, crying.
